POTSDAM-TOURS
POTSDAM-TOUR 3
... through the "New Garden".
The Prussian King Frederick William II was influenced by Freemasons, Rosecrucians and Illuminates, which corresponded to the Zeitgeist. The Neue Garten with its numerous buildings was created for rituals and initiation ceremonies. The gardens and buildings form a mystical landscape that is still comprehensible and logical today.
Freemason architects, intellectuals and artists have created important buildings and significant works of art here. Names such as Carl Gotthard Langhans, Carl von Gonthard, Michael Phillip Boumann, Johann Gottfried Schadow and Constantin Philipp Georg Sartori have worked here. A walk through the garden leads us symbolically through the epochs of ancient Egypt, Greece, the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Between the pyramid, the obelisk, the temple, the Heiligensee, the Havel river and the Muschelkrotte, we trace the hidden mysteries and secrets of Freemasonary.
Duration of the tour: approx. 1.5 hours.
